| Abstract: |
| The phase composition and micro morphologies of hydration products of shrinkage compensating mortar were investigated under the simulated condition of the core of massive concrete using semi quantitative XRD and SEM EDS. The cracking of mortars induced by delayed ettringite formation is due to the uniform expansion of microcrystalline ettringite in the hardened mortars. |
