Abstract:MSWI fly ash is a residual that comes from scrubber after incineration of municipal solid wastes(MSWI), in which water leachable heavy metals are contained, so it is regarded as hazardous wastes and must be undergone a solidification or stabilization treatment before disposal. In this study the leachability of heavy metals in MSWI fly ash and cement solidification effect were studied. It is shown that cement immobilization effect of MSWI fly ash is good and heavy metals are immobilized within cement hydration products through either physical fixation, substitution or adsorption mechanisms.
