Abstract:Some common high modulus agent was selected together with its ground up powder to prepare high modulus asphalt binders, then the microscopic dispersion state of high modulus agents and macroscopic mechanics of asphalt binders were analyzed by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and dynamic shear rheological test. The melting effect and road performance of asphalt mixture with high modulus agent in different particle sizes were evaluated by extraction test and road performance test. Results show that reducing particle size of high modulus agent will result in satisfied dispersion effect and melting state in asphalt binder, increase the storage modulus of asphalt binder, and improve the road performance of high modulus asphalt mixture.
